Borehole drilling for Bowmanville GO Rail begins

Caroline Mulroney, Provincial Minister of Transportation said Ontario has begun critical borehole drilling on the Lakeshore East line to collect information needed to prepare for future GO rail service in Durham.

Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance and MPP for Pickering-Uxbridge, said this is a critical next step to advance plans to bring more rail service to people in communities across Durham Region.

Lindsay Park, MPP for Durham, pointed out that local transportation is headed in the right direction. This early work on the project is particularly exciting for people of Bowmanville and surrounding areas…who have been waiting for decades for this expanded GO Rail service.

The extension would better connect the region and provide service beyond Oshawa for the first time.
