Break-and-Enter thief gets cold feet, still is arrested

Durham Police yesterday said a male is in custody after attempting to break into a residence in Whitby.

On Wednesday, October 25 at about 11:50 am, members from Central West Division responded to a break-and-enter in progress in the area of Kirby Crescent and Holden Court in Whitby.

A male suspect attempted to gain entry to a residence by breaking a window, but fled prior to entering the home. Police set up a perimeter and located the suspect a short distance away. He was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was found in possession of numerous break-in tools, said a police statement

The 51-year old of Maple was charged and held for bail hearing.
