Brock reaches three-year agreement with workers’ union

The Township of Brock and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1652 (Cupe 1652) have successfully negotiated a new three-year collective agreement.

The agreement, which covers the period from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026, was ratified by both parties on November 22, said a township statement.

“I’m pleased that our bargaining team worked to achieve a mutually beneficial agreement,” said Mayor Walter Schummer. “These are difficult times and I believe we did everything we could to manage the impact to Brock taxpayers while working with Cupe to get a collective agreement that reflects our dedication to supporting our staff as they serve the residents of Brock.”

The agreement ensures labour stability and allows the Township to continue moving forward with its priorities.

Details of the agreement were not released.
