Fail-to-stops make a busy night for DRPS

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) had a busy Thursday night chasing cars – but calling off the cruisers when it got dangerous for road users, including the police and the chased.

Officers from the DRPS West Division said there were two separate incidents when they tried to stop a vehicle, but both vehicles failed to stop for police.

One incident took place on the highway and another in a residential neighborhood, police said.

Officers discontinued pursuing due to community safety, said a DRPS tweet.

Police are continuing to investigate the two incidents.

No further details were available till late last night.
