Changes to waste collection for Oshawa, Whitby residents

The Regional Municipality of Durham has notified residents of the City of Oshawa and Town of Whitby of changes to the scheduled curbside blue box collection, in observance of the statutory holiday.

When: October 11 to 16.

Where: Residents in Oshawa and Whitby only, will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day. This means blue box collection scheduled for Monday, October 11 will temporarily have their collection moved to Tuesday, October 12. This shift will continue throughout the week, with collection scheduled for Friday, October 15 moved to Saturday, October 16.

Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding collection of these items.

Why: These changes are taking place in observance of the October 11 statutory holiday.

Note: Residents are reminded to have blue box materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection. For more information, please visit durham.ca/WasteCollection.
