Clarington Walks to be temporarily relocated due to construction

Clarington Walks will be temporarily relocated from Bowmanville Indoor Soccer starting Monday, April 7, as construction begins on the new South Bowmanville Recreation Centre.

Officials have suggested alternative options for residents looking to continue their walking routine:

  • Indoor walking at Clarington recreation facilities – The gymnasium at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex will be available for walking on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7 to 9 am. Additional facilities may also be available depending on program schedules and bookings.
  • Courtice Fitness Training Centre – Those interested in a more structured indoor fitness option can utilize the Courtice Fitness Training Centre, which offers walking, running, and other fitness activities. Access is available through a gym membership, a 10-ticket pass, or a pay-as-you-go option (fees apply).
  • Outdoor walking opportunities – Residents can take advantage of Clarington’s parks and trails to stay active.

The South Bowmanville Recreation Centre is scheduled to open to the public in summer 2026.
