Clean your car, Durham Police tell speeding driver

It has been a few days since the Friday’s winter storm, and most of the driveways, roads and streets have been cleared of snow – but not this driver’s vehicle (above image).

Even though the driver may not have been able to see the surroundings clearly, but the motorist was also speeding, according to the police mobile radar.

“Think safety: typically means drive in accordance with weather conditions and speed limits,” said DRPS Traffic Services.

“This driver opted to ignore the posted limits and was stopped by an enforcement officer,” it added.

The location was not mentioned, and no further details were provided.

Speeding continued unabated elsewhere too with Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) North Division officers charging these drivers (below) with speeding in a 50 kmh zone in Sunderland.

“Please obey the speed limit,” they said.

Meanwhile, Durham Police announced a road closure in Whitby.

Thickson Road North was closed in both directions from south of Rossland Road East to William Stephenson Drive for a collision investigation, it said.
