Coming traffic curbs due to Durham spring cleaning

Traffic flows are likely to be affected by road closures and lane restrictions as municipalities across Durham get on with spring cleaning and infrastructure maintenance and upgrade works.

Pickering

The Regional Municipality of Durham advised of lane restrictions on Altona Road (Regional Road 27) in the City of Pickering.

  • When: Ongoing until May 15. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: Altona Road from Finch Avenue to Sparrow Circle, in Pickering.
  • Why: To install a new sanitary sewer.

Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham said there will be lane restrictions on Harmony Road North (Regional Road 33) in the City of Oshawa.

  • When: May 11 to June 30.
  • Where: Harmony Road North from Coldstream Drive to 450m north of Coldstream Drive in Oshawa.
  • Why: To install a new sidewalk.

There will be a road closure of Winchester Road East (Regional Road 3) in the City of Oshawa.

  • When: May 19 to 21.
  • Where: Winchester Road East, immediately east and west of Simcoe Street.
  • Why: To safely place surface asphalt, and roadwork, infrastructure and intersection improvements to support new development.

Whitby

The Regional Municipality of Durham advised residents of lane shifting and restrictions on Taunton Road East (Regional Road 4) in the Town of Whitby.

  • When: Ongoing until September 2020.
  • Where: Taunton Road East from Coronation Road to the Highway 412 northbound off-ramp, in the Town of Whitby.

The Regional Municipality of Durham said there will be lane restrictions on Taunton Road East (Regional Road 4) in the Town of Whitby.

  • When: May 11 to 15.
  • Where: Eastbound lane restrictions on Taunton Road East from 170 metres west of Garrard Road to Garrard Road, in Whitby.
  • Why: Watermain works to support a new development.

There will be lane restrictions on Anderson Street (Regional Road 36) in the Town of Whitby.

  • When: Ongoing to ­­­­June 12.
  • Where: Anderson Street, from 85 m south of Crawforth Street to Rossland Road (Regional Road 28), in Whitby.
  • Why: Road rehabilitation.

Clarington

Tooley Road to close between Nash Road and Pebblestone Road

Tooley Road will close between Nash Road and Pebblestone Road on Tuesday, May 12, for regional utilities work. The closure is expected to last most of the day.

Detours will be available via alternate local roads.
