Community Centre opens Monday with temporary wall

The Township of Uxbridge yesterday said the arena remains open; however, the community centre remains closed until Monday, September 28.

As of September 25, the Community Centre at the Uxbridge Arena remains closed following a vehicle collision. Final structural inspections and assessments have been completed, and a restoration plan has been established, said a township statement.

It said the exterior wall sustained damage in the collision, and planning for permanent repairs is underway.

Installation of a temporary wall is expected to be completed by Sunday, September 27, allowing the Community Centre to safely reopen on Monday, September 28. More extensive permanent repairs to the damaged wall will be completed following the installation of the temporary wall, the township said.

It thanked facility users and renters for their cooperation and patience while this work is completed.
