Conlin Road closed from today until August

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with the City of Oshawa, has issued a notice of additional closure areas on Conlin Road in the City of Oshawa.

Conlin Road will be closed to through traffic in stages during the 2023 construction season to complete the work. Access for local traffic and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule, said a joint statement.

It said in stage two of the road closure starting March 6, the existing Conlin Road closure limits will be extended to include Conlin Road, from east of Garrard Road to west of Stevenson Road North, and the intersection of Thornton Road North and Conlin Road West. This closure will be in effect until August.

The statement said the closure is to safely install a new feedermain, watermain, sanitary and storm sewer, and to facilitate road reconstruction.

It said businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction. Durham Region offers a helpful overview of what businesses can expect during construction, including tips on how to minimize the inconvenience on their business, at durham.ca/OpenForBusiness.

The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
