Durham Health yesterday added one new Covid-19 death in a Scugog long term care (LTC) facility, taking the overall death toll to 282. Of these 215 have taken place at LTCs.
Durham Health also posted 85 new Covid-19 cases for January 29, taking the region’s tally to 10,648 since the count began on February 29. Three cases are under investigation.
There were:
- 17 new cases in Pickering
- 23 new cases in Ajax
- 14 in Whitby
- 22 in Oshawa
- 5 in Clarington
- 1 each in Uxbridge and Brock
Recoveries stand at 9,838, up by 26. There are 528 active covid cases.
Thirty-seven cases are hospitalized with 14 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 491 people in home isolation.
Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 3,111 in Ajax.
Death Toll: Total – 282 LTCH – 215
Of the 96 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 48 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTCH
Forty-three deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTCH
Of the 46 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTCH
Eleven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
Fourteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 12 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Brock
