Covid Update: 2,103 active cases; one new death

Durham Health yesterday posted 223 new Covid-19 cases for April 14, taking the region’s tally to 17,247 since the count began on February 29 2020.

One person had died on April 13 in Oshawa.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 316, with 217 of them occurring in LTCs.

Variants cases stood at 4,197.  Recoveries stand at 14,828. There are 2,103 active covid cases.

Eighty-two cases are hospitalized with 27 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 2,021 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • 46 cases in Pickering
  • 80 in Ajax
  • 32 in Whitby
  • 41 in Oshawa
  • 17 in Clarington
  • 4 in Uxbridge
  • 1 in Scugog
  • 1 in Brock

Of the 102 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC, one additional death
Of the 53 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-nine deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC, one additional death
Of the 54 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Seventeen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
