Durham Health yesterday posted 244 new Covid-19 cases for April 15, taking the region’s tally to 17,507 since the count began on February 29 2020.
One person has died on April 15 in Pickering.
Durham’s overall death toll stands at 317, with 217 of them occurring in LTCs.
Variants cases stood at 4,236. Recoveries stand at 15,034. There are 2,156 active covid cases.
Eighty-four cases are hospitalized with 28 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 2,072 people in home isolation.
Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far in Ajax.
There were:
- 56 cases in Pickering
- 70 in Ajax
- 37 in Whitby
- 45 in Oshawa
- 26 in Clarington
- 4 in Uxbridge
- 5 in Scugog
- 1 in Brock
Of the 102 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC, one additional death
Of the 53 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-nine deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC, one additional death
Of the 55 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Seventeen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
