DRPS Traffic Services highlighted a couple of outstanding incidents during the ongoing Festive Ride progrm in Durham.
Officers catch plenty of speeding drivers, but it is not often they clock one going at 185kmh at night (image above).
“185 is too fast, it puts all other motorists and yourself at risk,” said the police.
They said the driver is facing numerous charges. No further details were announced.
‘Warn’ twice
Another incident related by the police was of a driver who – not once, but twice – did not come out of a breath test clear.
Blowing in the warn range results in a three-day suspension… doing so for the second time results in a seven-day… doing so while stunt driving results in a 14-day suspension on top.
They pointed out that the driver had (image below) longer suspension period applied.
Drive sober and slow down, police advised.
They did not mention where the incident took place.
Meanwhile, DRPS North Division reported that a truck driver was charged for failing to stop at a red light and another driver charged for speeding in Brock.
“Please obey traffic lights and the speed limit.”
