With the weekend approaching and happy holidays ending the day after, one driver may have thought of having some fun on a stretch of Highway 407.
The need for speed was such that the 37-year old from Oshawa seemed to have almost floored the pedal to hit 190kmh on the 100kmh highway.
Unfortunately for the driver, the fun did not last long as the watchful stalwarts of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were locked in and intercepted the motorist.
Whitby OPP stopped a 37-year-old from Oshawa for speeding 190kmh on Highway 407 westbound at Darlington Clarke Townline Road in Clarington, said OPP Highway Safety Division on Friday.
OPP said the driver was issued a 14-day vehicle impound and a 30-day licence suspension.
It did not mention the fine.
