Donate at the first 2021 Reuse Day on March 20

Durham Region yesterday announced it is accepting good quality, reusable items at the first Reuse Day event of 2021. Items will be donated to Diabetes Canada and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

When: March 20, from 9 am to 1 m. For more details and to view all Reuse Days in 2021, visit durham.ca/WasteEvents.

Where: Durham Region Waste Management Centre, 4600 Garrard Road, in the Town of Whitby.

Why: Reuse Days is a program to keep quality, reusable items out of the waste stream. At Reuse Days, partnering charities work with the Region to accept all good quality, reusable items. This year only clothing, household goods and small furniture will be accepted.

Note: Masks are required, and physical distancing will be in effect. Only items deemed to be suitable for reuse by charities will be accepted. Garbage, household hazardous waste and electronics will not be accepted. Materials refused by charities must be removed by residents and can be disposed of at one of the Region’s waste management facilities (fees may apply).
