Man robs Petro Canada armed with screwdriver

Durham Police investigators are looking for a male suspect for a robbery of a gas station in Whitby Friday night.

On March 12 at about 9:40 pm, members of Central West Division were called to the Petro Canada gas station on Taunton Road and Baldwin Street in Whitby for a robbery. The suspect, who was armed with a screwdriver, entered the store and made a demand for cash. The suspect took cash drove off in a white hatchback, said a police statement.

The victim didn’t receive any physical injuries. Officers searched the area, with negative results.

The suspect is described as male, black, tall, in his 20’s. He had short black hair, and was wearing a yellow hat, black face mask, grey and black track suit and black and gold shoes. He left the scene in a white hatchback.
