30,000 lbs of food and goods donated for shelters

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said more than 30,000 lbs of food and goods were delivered to seven agencies and shelters in Durham Region.

Officers from the Community Safety Branch represented DRPS as they assisted with the donation that was made possible through the generosity of Giant Tiger and the hard work of B&G Towing and Recovery.

The donation included food, hygiene products, clothing and household items, which will go to assist those in need within Durham Region. It took five hours and a lot of dedication to get the donations where they needed to go, said the DRPS.

“Thank you to everyone involved and all the support received today, including the Giant Tiger family and B&G Towing and Recovery owner Bill Wright and his crew,” it added.
