Driver crashes into energized Oshawa Power panel

Oshawa Power yesterday announced that a driver had climbed the curb and ploughed into one of its panels.

The cables inside were fully energized, but thankfully, no one was injured as company crews and police officers worked on the scene.

Our team are working along side the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) dealing with this unfortunate accident, said a tweet from Oshawa Power President and CEO, Ivano Labricciosa.

“The cables were fully energized and our team did a great job keeping this site safe so nobody was injured – but the lights in the area were affected while we replaced the equipment,” he added.
