DRT buses get masked up to remind you

Since the start of the second wave, Durham Region Transit (DRT) has been emphasising the necessity of wearing face masks under its ‘We’re on This Ride Together’ campaign.

It is an effort to continue to encourage all passengers to wear a mask while using public transit.

As part of the campaign, DRT has been promoting its huge mask decal on three buses on social media.

The large mask decals, which span the entire front of the bus, serves as a reminder to all those in the region of the importance of wearing a mask when out in the community, including on board DRT buses, said a statement.

In addition to the masked-wrapped buses, DRT is distributing 2,500 free branded masks to residents of Durham Region.

“Durham Region Transit is one of the safest ways to get around Durham Region – safety measures are in place for passenger and operator safety. These highly-visible mask decals on the front of buses will serve as a powerful reminder to everyone throughout the Region to do their part to help stop the spread of Covid-19,” said John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer.

  1. If we want to stop this virus; then, we all need to use real medical grade surgical masks or better on the buses.
