Durham covid death count rises to 22 in April

Durham Health yesterday added 260 new Covid-19 cases from April 28 to May 1, taking the region’s tally to 60,468 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

The total case count had stood at 50,241 in January, 53,117 in February and 56,061 in March. With the new structure of data published over a period of days, it is not confirmed how many total cases of covid were reported in April 2022.

Durham Health has brought down the overall death toll by one to 472. There was no explanation of the deduction.

March toll in the region stood at seven. Twenty-three people died from covid in February, and 31 in January. There were 22 covid deaths reported for last month (April).
