Durham Police this morning said an 83-year-old male is dead after being found with obvious signs of trauma in a residential home in Ajax.
This is the seventh homicide so far this year in Durham, police said.
On Monday, June 6, at about 5:30 pm, members of West Division responded to a call on Griffiths Drive for a family dispute. Upon arrival police discovered the victim without vital signs and suffering from significant trauma. He was pronounced deceased on scene, said a statement.
The suspect and victim are known to one another and police believe this to be an isolated incident. Homicide and Forensic investigators were called to the scene and are not looking for any further suspects, it added.
A 40-year old suspects from Ajax was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
