Elderly woman wakes up to find armed robber in her home

Durham Police are looking for a male suspect after he broke into a residential home in Beaverton early Monday morning.

On October 2 at about 2:45 am, members from North Division responded to a residence in the area of Church Street and Osborne Street in Beaverton after an elderly female awoke to a male armed with a knife in her home.

The male stole numerous items from the home as well as the victim’s vehicle, said a police statement.

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2006 teal/green Pontiac Torrent with Ontario licence plate CRPB 471.

The suspect is described as male, White, 20-30 years old, tall with a small moustache and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, police said.
