Four handguns, drugs seized in Oshawa raids

Investigators from the DRPS Gun and Gang Unit seized four handguns during a firearm and drug investigation in Oshawa.

On January 5, investigators from our Gun and Gang Unit executed three search warrants, and seized approximately $180,000 in cash and drugs (cocaine and methamphetamine) and four handguns with ammunition, police said.

Jeffrey Whyte, age 49, of Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto is facing 24 gun and drug-related charges, including: Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking; Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm; Careless Storage of a Firearm and Tampering with Serial Number.

Jessica Whyte, age 38, of Baldwin Street in Oshawa, is charged with:Contravention of Storage Regulations; Careless Storage of Firearm; Possession of Prohibited/Restricted Firearm with Ammunition and Unauthorized Possession of Firearm Knowing It’s Unauthorized x2.

They were both held for bail hearings.
