Fundraising for $75,000 playground at McCaskill’s Mills PS

The Cannington Lions Club has announced a partnership with the McCaskill’s Mills Public School School Community Council (SCC) to support efforts for a new playground at the school, according to a statement from the club.

According to the Cannington Lions Club, the anticipated cost of the project is expected to be $75,000 or more. The club stated that the new playground is an important piece of community infrastructure that will benefit both students at McCaskill’s Mills Public School and the broader community.

As part of its support, the Cannington Lions Club has announced an initial $5,000 donation from its Community Improvement Fund. In addition, the club stated that it is committed to working with SCC members on future fundraising efforts to help bring the project to completion.

The SCC has been fundraising to replace the school playground equipment, as the Durham District School Board does not fund such equipment on its property, the statement said.
