Gang War? Shots fired at homes in Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa

Durham Police are searching for suspects – and are asking for public help – after a spate of shootings at residences in the region.

Investigators are continuing to look into if any shootings this weekend are connected.

Shots fired at a residence in Whitby: Police are canvassing a Whitby neighbourhood after shots were fired at a residence on Sunday, May 19 at about 3:15 am.

Members from Central West Division responded to the area of Garrard Road and Manning Road in Whitby after receiving reports of shots being fired at a residence. Officers arrived on the scene and located shell casings in the area. However, no victims were located, said a police report.

Officers are continuing to canvass the area, and are appealing to anyone in the community with information to come forward.

Shots fired at two residences in Oshawa: Police are canvassing an Oshawa neighbourhood after shots were fired at a residence.

On Sunday, May 19 at around 3:30 am, members from East Division responded to the area of Conlin Road East and Townline Road North in Oshawa after receiving reports of shots being fired at a residence.

Officers arrived on scene and located numerous shell casings in the area, but no victims were located.

Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Cst. Snow of the East Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1617.

Another shooting: On Monday, May 20 at around 1 am, members from Central West Division responded to a residential home in the area of Thornton Road North and Adelaide Avenue West in Oshawa after receiving reports of shots being fired. Officers arrived on the scene and located numerous shell casings in the area however no victims were located.

Police canvassing Ajax neighbourhood after shots fired at residence: On Friday, May 17 at about 9:10 am, members from West Division responded to the area of Ravenscroft Road and Rossland Road West in Ajax after receiving reports of shots being fired at a residence.

Officers arrived on the scene and located numerous shell casings in the area. However, no victims were located.

On Saturday, May 18 at around 3:20 am, members from West Division responded to the same residence in Ajax after receiving reports of shots being fired. Officers arrived on the scene and located numerous shell casings in the area, but no victims were located.

Officers are continuing to canvass the area, however are appealing to anyone in the community with information to come forward.
