Get movin’ and groovin’ with virtual dance fitness classes

Whitby, Ontario – Are you an older adult in Durham Region looking for fun new ways to get active or stay fit?

On September 21, a certified fitness instructor and Rogers TV host will host the first of a free, four-part virtual “Movin’ and Groovin’” dance class series, tailored to older residents looking to get active and fit—because it’s never too late to prioritize your health and have fun while doing it.

When: Classes are live from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, on September 21 and 28, and October 5 and 12.

Where: This is a virtual event series. Register online at durham.ca/LearningSeries.

Who: This four-part, free virtual series will be instructed by Karen Ross, a certified fitness instructor, personal trainer and rehabilitative aquafit instructor who specializes in adult fitness and wellness, for those 55 and older. Karen is also the host and community producer of “A Little Bit Fit” on Rogers TV. She began her fitness journey later in life; and is here to share her knowledge with anyone else who may be thinking it is too late to improve their health, as she once did.

Note: This event series is part of the Virtual Seniors’ Virtual Learning Series, presented by Durham Region in partnership with various community partners. Stay active, socially engaged and connected through educational workshops, recreational classes and community challenges for older adults. Watch for more events in the coming months.

This progamming is funded through an Ontario Inclusive Community Grant.
