Get ready for Clarington’s second annual Oktoberfest

Grab your lederhosen and head to Newcastle Community Hall on October 4th for some great entertainment, dancing, local beer and even fresh German pretzels as the Bowmanville Rotary Club hosts its second annual Oktoberfest fundraiser.

“Our first Oktoberfest was so much fun for everyone attending that we were asked to do it again,” says Oktoberfest chair, Rachel Boyd, “and so we are!”

Dance to the music of Durham’s favourite cover band, J13 – playing everything from country to rock, 70s to today’s hits.

Refreshments include authentic German pretzels crafted by the Artisan Bakery Montmartre, and traditional German-style Kolsch beer from Bowmanville’s own Lightcaster Brewery.

“Oktoberfest is more than a celebration,” says Bowmanville Rotary President, Rebecca Grieve. “It’s a chance for the community to come together in the spirit of fun, great music and drinks, all while giving back. For the Rotary Club, it’s a chance to raise funds that support the projects and people who need it most, both here at home and for our projects abroad.”

Doors open Oct 4 at 6:30 pm, and yes, you can wear your lederhosen, your hats or anything else that fits the season!

Place: Newcastle Community Hall, 20 King Ave. W, Newcastle

Tickets are $35 and available at: https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/oktoberfest-10
