Given $462 ticket for doing 81 in 50 kmh zone

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday caught two cases of speeding in the region.

In one instance, a traffic officer had a vehicle pulled over on Highway 7/12 for speeding 125km/hr in an 80km/hr zone.

Meanwhile, another patrol received notification of another speeding vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the driver.

DRPS said the vehicle was being driven at 81km/hr in a 50 km/hr community safety zone. The driver was issued a $462 ticket.

Yesterday morning, DRPS Traffic Services Branch was conducting speed enforcement in North Oshawa, advising motorists to drive safe and obey the speed limit.
