Quarrel leads to 18-year old being stabbed

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Pickering on Wednesday evening.

On May 19 at approximately 9:30 pm, members from West Division were called to the area of Bayly Street and Liverpool Road for a stabbing. Upon arriving on scene, officers learned that the stabbing had occurred in the area of Fairport Road and Kingston Road. An altercation had ensued between the victim and suspect, who were known to each other, and the victim was subsequently stabbed, police said.

The victim was located and taken to a trauma centre in Toronto where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Investigators have identified the suspect and there is currently a warrant being sought for his arrest.
