Starting September 5, there will be GO service adjustments on the Lakeshore East, as well as for GO bus service across the network, GO Transit operator Metrolinx said yesterday.
It said rush hour service will remain unchanged on all lines. Weekend service on the Lakeshore East will return to every 30 minutes.
These interim measures are expected to continue until spring 2027.
These changes address seasonal adjustments to align service with demand, shift some rail service to bus as an interim measure to address the availability of train crews, and provide an opportunity to advance important work on the lines, Metrolinx said.
It said these schedule changes support GO Transit’s rail partner with their advancement of crew training and certification, allowing recovery from high ridership demands during FIFA and to provide the capacity for future service needs.
GO Bus To Secondary Schools
As in previous years, GO bus service to post-secondary schools will be reinstated starting on Saturday, September 5:
- Service returns on the following bus routes: 15, 25, 29, 30, 41, 47, 52, 56 and 88.
It also said as the summer winds down, seasonal GO bus service to Canada’s Wonderland, Toronto Zoo and route 25K (Toronto Premium Outlets) has ended for the season. The last day for these services was on Sunday, August 30.
“We continuously monitor our schedules and ridership network-wide to ensure our GO Transit services align with ridership demand,” said Metrolinx.
There are also changes on Lakeshore West, Barrie and Stouffville rail lines.
For exact trip departure and arrival times, customers are encouraged to check schedules in advance on the GO Transit website and plan their trip ahead of time.
