Gun-wielding man robs Tim Hortons in Whitby

Durham police are looking for a suspect who is wanted for an armed robbery at a Tim Hortons in Whitby Thursday night.

On July 16 at about 8:50 pm, a male entered the Tim Hortons on Dundas Street near McQuay Boulevard in Whitby. The lone male entered the restaurant dressed in construction clothing and made his way into the employee area while brandishing a handgun. The suspect made a demand for cash and then fled on foot. Four employees were present at the time. Police searched the area with negative results, said a police statement.

The employees didn’t sustain any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as male, black, 6′ tall, 190 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, black pants, reflective work vest and a construction helmet.
