Guns stolen from Oshawa, Bowmanville homes

Three firearms were stolen from a residence in Oshawa and seven more from a Bowmanville home.

On January 11, at approximately 10:20 pm, a homeowner contacted police and advised that he returned to his home near Lakeview Park Avenue and Birchcliffe Court in Oshawa and found three of his legally owned firearms missing from the locked gun locker. The homeowner left his residence at approximately 4:30 pm, and sometime between returning home, the suspect gained entry and removed the guns. There were no other items missing from the home and there was no forced entry into the residence, said a police statement.

Investigators are appealing to the public for information surrounding any suspicious person(s) or vehicles in the vicinity of Lakeview Park Avenue and Birchcliffe Court between 4:30 pm and 10:20 pm on Monday, January 11, 2021. Guns stolen from Bowmanville residence

Seven firearms were stolen from a residence in Bowmanville early this week.

Between January 11 at about 6:30 am, and Tuesday, January 12 at 4:30 pm, it’s believed that the suspect(s) broke into a residence near Liberty Street North and Sunset Road in Bowmanville and stole seven legally owned handguns from a locked safe. It is believed that the firearms were taken while the victim was at work.

There were no other items missing from the home and there was no forced entry into the residence.

Investigators are appealing to the public for information surrounding any suspicious person(s) or vehicles in the vicinity of Liberty Street North and Sunset Road in Bowmanville between 6:30 am, on Monday, January 11 and Tuesday, January 12 at 4:30 pm.
