Hawk sniffs out suspect hiding in drop ceiling

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) K-9 Unit announced over the weekend a successful outing.

Apparently a break-and-enter suspect managed to flee from police officers… and vanished.

But PC Wright and K9 Hawk were used to the game of hide-and-seek.

They set off to assist the officers, and managed to locate the perpetrator who had broken into a storage unit and had tried to conceal himself in the drop ceiling.

K9 Hawk quickly detected his hiding spot and promptly “talked” the suspect into a peaceful surrender, said a K-9 Unit tweet.

One in custody, it added without providing further details.
