Heating Off: Oshawa warns athletes about cold Civic Dome

The Civic Dome in Oshawa is currently undergoing a heating replacement project, which will continue through the winter months.

As a result, the dome will not be heated during this period and colder temperatures are expected inside, according to the City of Oshawa.

Users of the Civic Dome track and tennis courts are advised to dress in layers or wear cold-weather-appropriate clothing to stay warm. If temperatures inside the dome become uncomfortable, members may cancel their memberships at any time without penalty, the city said.

Additionally, if severe weather or cold temperatures impact the track or tennis court conditions, a temporary closure may be implemented. Affected users will be notified promptly, it added.
