Durham District School Board (DDSB) yesterday said that a Hold and Secure at one of its schools has been lifted.
The hold and secure at Viola Desmond Public School has now been lifted. Students and staff are safe, it said.
The DDSB thanked the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) for its assistance.
A hold and secure means that exterior doors are locked to ensure all students remain inside and all regular activities within the school continue as normal.
No further information was released till late last night by the DDSB, the school or Durham Police.
