Impatient driver beats red light with police at crash scene

DRPS Traffic Services come across all kinds every day on the job – mostly drivers speeding for the thrill of it, or in a hurry to get some place. Impatience is a human trait too.

A police officer was on scene of a collision in the Town of Ajax when a southbound vehicle decided red lights were optional.

Despite the obvious prescence of the fire truck and police on scene, the driver sped through.

On top of it, the motorist also had a passenger not properly secured.

Police said charges were laid.

“Pay attention, especially near active collision scenes,” it cautioned the public.

Stunt Driving

DRPS Traffic Services had to contend with speedsters in the Town of Whitby.

Within moments of each other, two drivers were stopped for stunt driving in Whitby.

“Slow down folks, wanting to ‘pass traffic’ isn’t a good excuse,” police said.

Earlier yesterday, DRPS Traffic Services alerted drivers that the roads were slick. “Please drive with caution and have your full light system on,” they said.
