Manslaughter parolee was living at casino resort, re-arrested

Durham Police yesterday said a male who breached his curfew conditions while out on parole for manslaughter has been arrested in Pickering.

On Wednesday, January 10, members of West Division responded to a call for a wanted male at the Pickering Casino Resort located at 888 Durham Live Avenue.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) advised DRPS that a male who was out on parole after serving a sentence for manslaughter, was breaching his conditions and currently staying at the Pickering Casino Resort. Officers attended the hotel and took the male into custody without incident, said a police statement.

The suspect, age 32 from Guelph was transported to a Correctional Services Canada facility to complete his sentence. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
