Injured motorcyclist airlifted to trauma centre

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision in Oshawa.

The collision involved a motorcycle and pick-up truck. A 69-year-old male suffered serious leg injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center, said the DRPS.

Air ambulance Ornge had to be called in to transfer the motorcyclist to hospital, it said.

The scene of the accident – Simcoe Street North between Cayuga Avenue and Taunton Road East in Oshawa had to be closed for the investigation. “Thank you for avoiding the area,” DRPS tweeted. It was later reopened. “Thank you for your cooperation,” DRPS said.
