Lane restrictions in Oshawa, Whitby, Bowmanville

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced ongoing and upcoming lane restrictions in the City of Oshawa, Town of Whitby and Bowmanville.

Liberty Street North in Bowmanville: The municipality is advising residents of lane restrictions on Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14) in Bowmanville.

  • When: October 7 and 8 during the day only
  • Where: Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14), from Longworth Avenue to 150 metres north of Longworth Avenue, in Bowmanville
  • Why: Road maintenance to support new development

Britannia Ave W in Oshawa: City of Oshawa has announced that Britannia Ave W will be closed to through traffic

  • Where: between Simcoe St N and Thoroughbred St
  • When: October 6, 2020 to October 9, 2020
  • Why: Region of Durham Contract -reconstruction and widening of Simcoe St, waterworks, multi-use path.

Road closure and detour signs will be posted in accordance with provincial standards. Access to emergency vehicles and local traffic will be provided if necessary.

Simcoe Street in Oshawa: There will be lane restrictions at the intersection of Simcoe Street South (Regional Road 2) and Wentworth Street East (Regional Road 60) in the City of Oshawa.

  • When: October 12 to 19 (daytime only). Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: The intersection of Simcoe Street South and Wentworth Street East in Oshawa.
  • Why: To safely complete construction work to support a new development.

Taunton Road East in Whitby: The municipality announced lane restrictions in the westbound lanes of Taunton Road East (Regional Road 4) in the Town of Whitby.

  • When: October 13 to 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: Taunton Road East, from Brock Street to McKinney Drive, in the Town of Whitby.
  • Why: To safely install water services to support new development.
