Little guy hurt his leg in fall from a utility pole

Durham Region Police Service (DRPS) is out and about not only to safeguard and protect people, but from time to time, officers are called to help out the other kinds.

Rescue of dogs – especially abandoned ones are frequent – but this time officers from the East Division of the DRPS found a handsome little guy who had fallen from a utility pole injuring his rear leg.

Concerned citizens contacted police who attended and developed a Valentine’s crush. He was named ‘Bentley’ and transported to the great staff at Mally’s Third Chance Raccoon Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre.

Bentley tested positive for distemper and likely had a seizure causing the fall. He is being treated for a gash to his leg and on a treatment plan for the distemper, said a police statement.
