As part of the construction operations, MTO will implement a closure of Wilson Road South from Dieppe Avenue to Bloor Street East.
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is working to replace the Wilson Road South overpass structure along Highway 401 in Oshawa.
When: March 24 to late 2026.
Why: To replace the Highway 401 / Wilson Road overpass, including the lowering of Wilson Road and improvements to embankments, retaining walls, noise barriers, drainage, lighting and signage, as confirmed by MTO officials.
During this period, both lanes of Wilson Road will be closed from Dieppe Avenue to Bloor Street East.
Southbound traffic on Wilson Road will be detoured at Olive Avenue. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Bloor Street. Dean Avenue and Dieppe Avenue. will be closed with local traffic only.
Signage will be installed prior to the closure to notify the public of the closure’s date and times. All detour routes will be outlined by detour signage to guide traffic.
