Man declared dead after crashing into ditch, striking tree

Durham Police are investigating after a single vehicle collision resulted in a fatality in Courtice in Clarington.

On Sunday, December 8, at about 10 am, members of East Division were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Courtice Road, just south of Pebblestone Road.

The motor vehicle was travelling northbound when it entered into the ditch and struck a tree. The male driver was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

Police say that the vehicle involved was a white crew cab Dodge Ram with a small rectangular diamond tread aluminum sheet over the left rear tire.
