Durham Police are seeking dashcam footage and witnesses to aid in the search for suspects involved in a carjacking in Pickering.
On Saturday, December 7, at about 10:50 pm, members of West Division responded to the area of Taunton Road and Altona Road for a carjacking.
Officers said that the victim was driving his vehicle, a black Mercedes G550 SUV, eastbound on Taunton Road when the suspect vehicle intentionally collided with him. When the victim got out of his vehicle, he was confronted by two males, one armed with a handgun. The armed suspect made a demand for the victim’s keys and both suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
Police say that both the suspect vehicle and stolen vehicle were last seen travelling westbound on Taunton Road, from Altona Road.
The victim sustained no physical injuries, police said.
Suspect #1 is described as: male, about 6’ tall, wearing a blue medical mask, black coat and blue gloves.
Suspect #2 is described as: male, about 5’10 tall, wearing a blue medical mask, black coat and blue gloves.
The suspect vehicle was a small black sedan and driven by a third suspect, police said.
Investigators are asking any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including dashcam, to please contact police.
