Man held for stabbing a relative in Oshawa

Durham Police yesterday said a 29-year-old Oshawa male has been arrested after stabbing a 37-year-old female relative at a residence in Oshawa.

On Saturday, October 3, 2020, at around 7 pm, members of East Division responded to a residence in the area of Wilson Road North and Greenhill Avenue in Oshawa for a stabbing. Officers located a 37-year-old female who had serious but non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed, said a police statement.

The suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal dispute prior to the stabbing. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. She remains in hospital in stable condition, it said.

The suspect was arrested and is facing numerous charges.

The 29-year-old male from Oshawa is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
