Man selling illegal weapons from convenience store

A 33-year-old male has been charged with selling prohibited weapons and illegal vape products out of a convenience store in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, June 21, members of Central East Criminal Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation into the sale of illegal items from a convenience store in Oshawa, said a police statement.

Throughout the investigation, it was learned that the suspect was selling prohibited weapons from Taunton Convenience Store, located at 250 Taunton Road East, in Oshawa. Investigators executed a number of Criminal Code search warrants, targeting the store, residence and vehicle of the suspect. This resulted in the seizure of 160 brass knuckles, six butterfly knives, and a quantity of illegal vape products.

The man, age 33, of Oshawa, has been charged. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

The Durham Region Health Department attended for the seizure of vape products, totaling 687 vapour products from his vehicle. All the vapour products found were improperly packaged with flavours and/or greater than 20 mg/ml nicotine.
