Man steals Land Rover at gunpoint in Ajax

Durham Police are looking for a suspect after a gunpoint carjacking in Ajax.

On Saturday, September 23 at about 10:55 pm, members of West Division responded to the area of Bazin Road and Turnerbury Avenue in Ajax for a carjacking.

The victim was parked at the side of the road when the suspect pointed a firearm through the open window and demanded the keys to the victim’s white Land Rover. The suspect then entered the vehicle and was last seen heading westbound on Bazin Road, said a police statement.

There were no physical injuries reported.

The suspect is described as: male, Black, 5’8”, wearing a black face mask and black hooded sweatshirt.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have video footage of this incident, including dashcam and home surveillance, to please contact police.
