Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has warned residents to be aware of one of the most recent scam happening, in which scammers claim to be from the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency).
The message includes the real CRA phone number, but DO NOT click on the link, said police.
Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre said it is getting reports of phishing text messages claiming to be from the CRA which include a real CRA phone number to make it look legitimate.
“If you get a text asking you to click on a link, it’s a scam, it said.
