Two unrelated fatal motorcycle collisions are under investigation by Ontario Provincial Police and Durham Regional Police.
In the first incident, the OPP report that a 25-year-old Pickering man died following a collision on Highway 401 near Harmony Road in Oshawa. The crash occurred just before 6 am on Thursday, June 5, when the motorcycle collided with the rear of a tractor trailer in the eastbound lanes. The motorcyclist was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. No other injuries were reported. All lanes reopened before 1 pm.
In an update to yesterday’s story, Durham Regional Police say a 49-year-old man died after a motorcycle crash in Courtice on Wednesday, June 4. At about 5 pm, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Trulls Road, north of Bloor Street. Police say the motorcycle was travelling southbound when the rider lost control and entered a ditch. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
