The Town of Ajax has announced that new proposed Development Charges (DC) will be tabled for approval next month.
“Council will be considering the approval of the updated development charges by-law on February 17,” said a town announcement.
Before next month’s meeting, residents have been invited to provide feedback at a Statutory Public Meeting of Ajax Council on February 3 at the Town Hall on 65 Harwood Avenue South. Open portions of the meeting will be livestreamed at www.ajax.ca/live.
Development Charges are fees on new developments that fund growth-related costs to a municipality which are governed by the Development Charges Act, 1997. The Development Charges Background Study relates to the provision of eligible DC Services which includes Fire Services, Library Services, Provincial Offences Act including By-Law Enforcement, Parks and Recreation, Development-Related Studies, and Services Related to a Highway, said a town statement.
The proposed Development Charges By-law was posted on December 17, as required under The Development Charges Act, 1997.
